I’m a total trailer chick. I live full time in my 1976 – 31’ Airstream Excella 500 which is parked on an island in the middle of two converging rivers in the Pacific Northwest. Working in marketing and business development can be very stressful but my trailer allows me to be on vacation every day, at least for part of the day. And it keeps me in touch with my more bohemian side.

I’m a food obsessed, self taught cooker and lover of tiny spaces. I’ve always thought the grander the kitchen, the more steps to take, the more gadgets to take care of and in the end, more dishes to wash. Although my current home has no wheels, I am no stranger to small spaces and especially small kitchens. I love the efficiency and ease of working in a space where everything has it’s place and is nestled within an arm’s reach. Being the cooker for TrailerChix is a perfect match for my love of travel, my passion to teach others the simplicity of creating fresh and fabulous food and my love of bringing people together through the sharing and enjoyment of an amazing meal.

My great love of travel, the outdoors and living in a small eco-friendly footprint does not in any way diminish my need and ability to live with style and elegance – to the contrary! My lifestyle choice allows me to live like a queen and set a table with only the most delectable fare. And best of all it allows me to share this bounty with so many of my friends.

I have found the almost perfect city – Portland, Oregon. Not too hot, not too cold, not too big, not too small. (There could be better local radio stations.) I spend my time in my perfect city gardening, walking and keeping my eyes open for vintage trailers. Currently, I live in a home without wheels with my fiancé, cattle dog, and two cats.

I’m not sure how to say this without you thinking I’m completely off my rocker, but I guess I should be brave. I am TRAILER OBSESSED! OBSESSED! I love trailers. I have written novels about a gal who grows up in an RV. I spent my little-girl summers in a cutie camper parked at the beach on a tiny little lot my dad had the sense to buy in the early 70s. I once sold my house, most of my things and took off for a six month road trip, visiting friends and family and as much of the great US as I could stuff into my odometer. I love trailers. Love them.

If it didn’t come with room and turn-down service – I wasn’t staying. That was three years ago. Now I’ve become a travel trailer diva. In fact my husband and I don’t buy trailers, we adopt them! Each one has been or is in the process of being turned into an elegant and fabulous hotel on wheels that would rival any “W”. Each stop provides a great opportunity to meet and make new friends. I find the opportunities to be creative endless. And for the room service and turndown – my husband’s a chef!

Being a Trailer Chix is a new concept to me, but let me also say it’s one that I’ve fallen madly in love with. I’ve always chosen small spaces to call my living quarters, but I’ve never added wheels to the mix. I have a passion for travel, the outdoors, and PEOPLE. Trailer living naturally lends itself to all of those things. It’s a niche community, and movement, I want to join and help spread the word about. As I make my next living decision you better believe a tiny house on wheels will be in the works!
